After finishing breakfast at Shuhoukaku Kogetsu in the morning, we planned to return the rental car to Budget near Haneda Airport before noon. After arriving at Haneda Airport’s domestic terminal, we would take a JAL flight in the afternoon to Asahikawa Airport in Hokkaido.

On our drive back to Tokyo, we stopped at the Ishikawa PA on the Chuo Expressway for a restroom break before continuing toward Haneda Airport.

After returning the rental car, we checked in our luggage at the domestic terminal of Haneda Airport, then walked to Shin Yamato on the 2nd floor of Terminal 1 for lunch. The restaurant serves Japanese cuisine, and orders are placed using the tablet on the table.

The food was served quickly. Before boarding, we enjoyed a simple lunch—steamed rice with delicious grilled mackerel, and my family also ordered a fried chicken set meal, which was quite good.

I chose the pork cutlet set meal. The restaurant was quite busy, including many students who were about to board their flights. After eating and relaxing, we got ready for our JAL flight.

The JAL domestic economy cabin was surprisingly spacious, with more legroom than international flights, making it very comfortable. However, there were no meals—only drinks—so I ordered an orange juice. The flight took about 1.5 hours before we landed at Asahikawa Airport.
↑Flying from Haneda Airport to Asahikawa Airport, we passed over Honshu with its long, wide rivers.
