Lunch at the Sojibou, COM Takamatsu: eel set meal with soba noodles

Day 10 of Our Shikoku Self-Driving Trip — Postponed by 2 Days

On what became the last day of our extended 10-day self-driving trip in Shikoku, we were preparing to fly back to Taiwan in the evening. Due to the typhoon, many shops were closed. Fortunately, we found that the Sojibou, COM Takamatsu was open, so we went there for lunch.

The restaurant was open and had quite a few customers inside. Since we hadn’t had soba noodles during this trip to Japan, we were especially drawn to try Shinshu soba when we spotted Sojibo (そじ坊).

The realistic-looking food samples in the display window outside the restaurant were very tempting and made us want to go in and enjoy some soba.

After browsing the menu, we decided to order the eel set meal with soba noodles. You can choose from four different styles of soba, either hot or cold. We also added tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet) and chestnut ice cream to our order.

My family ordered the unagi don (eel rice bowl), which we hadn’t had in Japan for a long time. The cold soba noodles were delicious as well.

I ordered the shrimp tempura rice bowl (ebiten-don) with soba noodles. Since it was a hot summer day, I opted for the cold soba. The combination of rice and noodles was very satisfying for the whole family.
