After passing by the Sapporo Clock Tower and Odori Park, we stopped to take a look at one of Sapporo’s most famous landmarks—the Sapporo TV Tower. Tonight, our family’s dinner plan was to enjoy charcoal-grilled lamb at Genghis Khan Daruma Main Branch. Since it would take quite a while to walk there, we decided to use the subway, as Odori Park has an underground station nearby.

We walked down into Odori Station and took the subway for about 8 minutes to Susukino Station. When we came up to street level, we found the area very lively, with a bustling atmosphere and even a Ferris wheel nearby.

After exiting the station, we walked for about 7 minutes to reach Genghis Khan Daruma Main Branch. There were already two lines of people waiting outside, and it had started to rain. Fortunately, we had prepared umbrellas before heading out. In the end, we waited in line for about 50 minutes.

It turned out that the restaurant did not have many seats. The seating was arranged in a U-shape. Our family of three shared one charcoal grill for the lamb. At the beginning, a large amount of onions was placed on the grill, with a piece of fat in the center to grease the iron plate and prevent the meat from becoming too dry or burning.

Once the charcoal-grilled lamb was cooked, we started eating. Dipping the lamb in the sauce made it incredibly delicious, and the onions were surprisingly sweet as well.

Enjoying the charcoal-grilled lamb with a cold, refreshing oolong tea was truly satisfying. After finishing our meal and stepping outside, we were surprised to see that the line had grown even longer. Waiting in line to eat on a rainy day was tough, but it was also a rare and memorable experience.
