During our 10-day, 9-night self-guided trip to Shikoku, we explored many attractions around Matsuyama City. On the fifth night, we stayed at Toyoko INN Matsuyama Ichibancho. The rental car was parked in the hotel’s paid storage parking lot earlier in the afternoon. After having dinner at Matsuya Matsuyama Okaido, we returned to the hotel to rest.
The building exterior photo above was taken on the way to Matsuyama Castle after leaving Toyoko INN Matsuyama Ichibancho. At the hotel, our family of three stayed in two rooms: one single room and one double room, both with the same layout.
What we found thoughtful was that we had informed the front desk in advance to arrange the rooms close to each other, and the staff accommodated our request by assigning adjacent rooms. This made it convenient for us to access items in each other’s luggage by simply knocking on the door. Rooms 504 and 506 were right next to each other.
The next morning, after a good night’s sleep, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with a variety of options. Both Western and Japanese dishes were available, and the Western-style bread was particularly good.
In addition to toast, there were several types of bread, including croissants, which were a favorite among our family. Curry rice and seaweed miso soup were also offered, making the breakfast quite satisfying.
