After attending the Nakano Udon School Kotohira Campus in Kagawa Prefecture, Shikoku, and climbing a short section of Kotohira Shrine, we decided to eat at Seto no Matsuri Sushi Hyogochoten branch on our way back to Takamatsu via Kotoden. On our first day in Takamatsu, we noticed this sushi restaurant while exploring near our hotel. So, when we were heading back to Toyoko Inn Takamatsu Hyogomachi that evening, we planned to have dinner there.
We took the Kotoden train from Kotoden Kotohira Station back to Takamatsu. Since there was no queue at that time, we were able to board the train immediately when it arrived. The red seats were surprisingly comfortable, and since there was still some distance to Takamatsu, we took the opportunity to rest for a while.
Our family got off one stop early at Kataharamachi Station before reaching Takamatsu-Chikkō Station, as this area had more restaurants. Right next to the station, there was a supermarket, so we took a look to see if we could buy some tea leaves to bring home. As we walked through the eastern section of Takamatsu Kataharamachi Shopping Street, we also saw quite a few art pieces.
When we arrived at Seto no Matsuri Sushi Hyogo-cho branch, there was a short wait. After about 15 minutes, we got in and were surprised to see that the seats were almost fully occupied.
Each table had a tablet, so we started ordering sushi from the menu. The seafood here is caught from the Seto Inland Sea or locally in Kagawa Prefecture. The plate prices were color-coded: yellow plates for 100 yen, blue plates for 150 yen, and red plates for 200 yen.
There were so many sushi options, but we stuck to our favorites, like tuna sushi, inari sushi, and tekka maki.
We also ordered red sea bream, shrimp, fresh tuna, amberjack, fatty tuna, and fresh sardine sushi. The menu had a lot of fish options, and sometimes, the Traditional Chinese translations weren’t clear, so we relied on the pictures to make our choices.
After a satisfying meal, the three of us had ordered a total of 7 red plates, 5 blue plates, and 10 orange plates. After finishing our meal and taking a break, we noticed that there was free Wi-Fi available on the walls, which was convenient for checking our phones. Then, we headed back to the hotel to rest.
