Dinner at Hidakaya Asakusa Kaminarimon Branch on the night before leaving Tokyo

The 12-day independent and self-driving trip through Hakone, Lake Kawaguchiko, and Hokkaido was coming to an end. On the night before leaving Tokyo, we returned to Hidakaya Asakusa Kaminarimon Branch for dinner.

We had first eaten at this restaurant nearly nine years earlier, in 2017, and visited it once again in 2018 before the pandemic. However, we had not returned since the pandemic. After spending the afternoon exploring the KIRAKIRA Tachibana Shopping Street and enjoying views of Tokyo Skytree, we decided to come back and revisit this familiar restaurant.

Hidakaya Asakusa Kaminarimon Branch is located near Hotel Sunroute Asakusa. We often stayed at Hotel Sunroute Asakusa in the past, and it takes only about a four-minute walk to get here. The food is affordable and delicious.

This time, we made a special trip back to the restaurant after returning to Tokyo. They had two of my favorite dishes: stir-fried pork and vegetables, and chilled noodles with Reimen. I especially enjoyed the stir-fried pork and vegetables.

The freshly stir-fried bean sprouts and cabbage paired perfectly with the pork, and it was so delicious that I ended up eating quite a lot of rice with it.

We also ordered pan-fried gyoza, which is something we always have to order whenever we visit Hidakaya. They were especially delicious when dipped in soy sauce and eaten with rice.

We also had the Shuanglong Chicken Set Meal. The delicious chicken was coated in a slightly sweet sauce and served with hot soup. The whole family could enjoy a satisfying and filling meal. Whenever we visit Asakusa in Tokyo, we always try to stop by this Hidakaya for a meal. It is truly a place filled with wonderful memories.
