Shikoku 10-day self-guided trip – Night 6 at Toyoko Inn Takamatsu Hyogomachi

We’ve arrived at Day 6 of our trip, returning to Takamatsu. Just like on the first night, we stayed at the same hotel, Toyoko Inn Takamatsu Hyogomachi, and we would continue staying here for the next two nights. Additionally, due to a typhoon preventing flights from Taiwan from arriving in Takamatsu, we ended up staying for another two nights.

Before heading back to the hotel, we had sushi at Seto no Matsuri Sushi Hyogochoten Branch. By then, it was already nighttime. After bringing our luggage back to our rooms, we found that the hotel staff had kindly arranged for our double room and single room to be on the same floor and right next to each other.

The layout of Toyoko Inn hotels is consistent across locations, with identical bathroom designs and room arrangements. This time, we stayed on the 5th floor, and our room was conveniently located right in front of the elevator, making it easy to move our luggage without too much effort. Despite the proximity to the elevator, the soundproofing was decent, and we didn’t hear any noise from other guests.

The breakfast was quite enjoyable, with a variety of dishes that changed daily. Occasionally, they served fried noodles or salad, and the toast and bread selection included different flavors.

This time, we got to try udon noodles and curry rice. Out of curiosity, we wanted to compare the curry rice here with what we usually have in Taiwan. As expected, the hotel’s Japanese curry had a slightly different taste from the Japanese-style curry we get in Taiwan. With Japanese rice, simply pairing it with the curry made for a delicious meal.
